TEGAMI / Christmas card messages

What to write in a Christmas card (that still sounds like you)

A Christmas card does not need to be long. One honest line, in your own hand, is enough.

With TEGAMI you can write it today and choose Christmas morning — it arrives at 8am, not a minute before, and your handwriting replays at the speed you wrote it.

For family

  • Merry Christmas. Home still feels like you.
  • Thank you for every Christmas I didn’t know to thank you for.
  • Save me a seat. I’ll be there in my heart.
  • However far I go, this is where I’m from.

For a friend

  • Merry Christmas. Thanks for being my person this year.
  • Same time next year? Same terrible sweaters?
  • You made this year lighter. Merry Christmas.

For your partner

  • My favourite part of Christmas is waking up next to you.
  • I wrote this slowly. I meant every letter.
  • Merry Christmas. You’re still my favourite gift.
  • Another year of us. Let’s keep going.

For someone far away

  • Merry Christmas from my side of the world.
  • The distance is real. So is this handwriting.
  • I set this to arrive on Christmas morning, so you’d wake up to me.
  • Same moon, different time zones. Merry Christmas.

For a colleague

  • Thank you for making the hard days easier. Merry Christmas.
  • Wishing you a quiet, happy holiday. You’ve earned it.
  • It’s been a pleasure working alongside you this year.

When it’s been a while

  • It’s been too long. Merry Christmas — I think of you often.
  • No need to reply. I just wanted you to have this.
  • Merry Christmas. I hope this year was kind to you.

How to send it with TEGAMI

  1. Write it by hand — With your finger, a stylus or a mouse, in your browser. No account needed to start — you sign up only when you send.
  2. Choose the day it arrives — Pick December 25. It arrives at 8am in your time zone. Until then, the other person receives nothing and sees nothing.
  3. Hand it over that morning — You get an email at 8am. Share each letter’s link by WhatsApp, iMessage, text or email. If they already use TEGAMI, it arrives in their mailbox.

You can send the same letter to other people too — just change the name. The arrival day carries over.

FAQ

Q. When should I write it?
Any time before. Choose December 25 as the arrival day and it arrives at 8am in your time zone. Writing early in December means you are not rushing on the day.

Q. What if they are in another time zone?
The letter arrives at 8am in your time zone. If they are far ahead or behind, choose the day before or after so it lands on their Christmas morning.

Q. Does the other person need the app?
No. They open the link and read it in their browser. No app, no account.

Q. Is it free?
Writing, sending, receiving and reading are free, and a selection of papers and stamps is free. Some stamp and paper designs are paid (from ¥800), and membership is optional.

Q. My handwriting is messy. Is that a problem?
No. TEGAMI does not tidy or correct your writing. The speed and the pauses arrive exactly as they were — that is the point.
